PSECU Launches Debit Card Rewards Program as Part of ‘Money Back Banking’

HARRISBURG, Penn.–Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union has launched a  new debit card rewards program that allows members to earn $0.05 or $0.10 for

eligible PSECU debit card purchases of $10 or more.

The product was initially introduced as a component of PSECU’s $22-million 2018 Special Membership Reward debit card, but became part of PSECU’s Money Back Banking benefit effective Jan. 1.

“Money Back Banking is our way of making sure our more than 450,000 members keep more of their hard-earned money where it belongs – with them,” said PSECU President Greg Smith. “Now, debit card rewards join our other member benefits that can help people save almost $1,000 a year.”

PSECU said the new debit card rewards program follows a per-purchase structure. Members with a checking account and one or more qualifying monthly direct deposits totaling at least $500 earn $0.10 for each eligible purchase of $10 or over. Members without direct deposit will earn $0.05 for each eligible purchase of $10 or over.

“At PSECU, we don’t nickel and dime our members for products and services the way some financial institutions do,” added Smith in a statement. “In fact, with our new debit card rewards program, we’re giving them nickels and dimes back – literally – when they use their debit card.”
