ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.–PSCU said it will once again be sponsoring the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run, scheduled for April 5.
The high-profile event attracts credit unions, members of Congress and congressional staff members to the race, which is aimed at being both a showcase for the credit union difference on Capitol Hill and to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.
The annual race is a fundraiser for a consortium of 170 CMN hospitals across North America and is part of the Credit Union Miracle Day,
“Credit unions throughout the U.S. proudly join together each year as title sponsors of the 47-year old race known as the ‘Runner’s Rite of Spring,’ said PSCU. “For the 13thconsecutive year as a lead sponsor, PSCU is helping to underwrite expenses, enabling the money raised to further research and provide medical care for patients at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.”
The company noted at the culmination of this year’s race, Credit Union Miracle Day is projected to have raised more than $9 million for the international non-profit since 2002. Nationwide, credit unions are the third largest fundraisers for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
“PSCU’s legacy of commitment to this race helps raise money for a good cause and provides broad visibility to elected officials about the importance and impact of credit unions in communities across the U.S., which is a win-win for our industry,” said Chuck Fagan, president and CEO of PSCU. “Ongoing advocacy is critical for the credit union industry, which was built on the foundational ’People Helping People’ philosophy, and we are proud to once again serve as a lead sponsor of this important event.”
