SPOKANE, Wash.—Credit unions from Washington and Oregon gathered here at the Amplify meeting of the Northwest CU Association were told that collectively they are “one of the region’s most impactful employers, charitable contributors, and political influencers.”
Troy Stang, CEO of the NWCUA, noted that of the 10.7-million people in the two states, 4.5 million are CU members, 200,000 of those having signed up in the past year. “Market share matters,” said Stang.
Stang added that the NWCUA will soon be releasing research by ECONorthwest that will identify the total economic value of credit unions in the Northwest.
