NEW YORK—Is mobile gaming driving greater use of payments cards?
A new study has found that as much as 77% of users that play mobile games on a regular basis make an in-app purchase within just two weeks of downloading the app in question.
The report from Unity also shows that if a user has not already made a purchase after two weeks have passed, chances are that they won’t make a purchase in the long run, Digital Information World stated in its analysis.
Around 18% of the games that were analyzed as part of this report used ad placements with rewards.
“In-app revenues will continue to be the top prize, and it will be interesting to see how mobile games adopt new and better strategies to get users to make these purchases in even larger quantities,” Digital Information World stated.
