ST. PAUL, Minn.–One year after Minnesota’s credit unions launched CUNA’s “Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union” campaign the Minnesota CU Network is saying the effort has “moved the needle” via nearly 200-million ad impressions.
According to the MnCUN, a survey of more than 750 Minnesotans first conducted in January 2019 and then again in November 2019 found:
- Consumer recall of the Open Your Eyes ads was more than 30%.
- Opinions on credit union ATM’s being convenient increased 9.5 percentage points
- Opinions of credit unions providing “good online banking services” moved up at least 5.8%
- Consumers likely or very likely to join a credit union increased 11.7 points
“These results support a trend that Minnesota credit unions are seeing with new member growth across the state,” MnCUN CEO Mark Cummins said in a statement. “We are encouraged by the results and are excited to continue our efforts to help consumers understand credit unions are their best financial partner.”
