EVANSVILLE, Ind.–Another analysis has found credit unions looking to play a role in educating their members about finances will want to stick with the basics.

OneMain Financial is reporting it analyzed Google search data to find out which personal finance questions Americans are searching for the most – and compiled answers to those questions.

The most-searched question, by far: What is a good credit score, which finished considerably ahead of the second-most asked question, which can be seen in the chart below.

According to OneMain Financial, Utahans searched for questions about personal finance most often when  compared to any other state, with the most common question the among Beehive State residents being that about credit scores.

Nearly 3 Million Searches

On average, Americans are searching for answers to their personal finance questions 2.8 million times a year, or 240,470 times a month, OneMain Financial said.

The company’s findings align with a recent report in CUToday.info in which Forbes Advisor also tallied the financial questions most frequently Googled. “What is a good credit score” also led the way in the Forbes analysis, followed by “What is APR?” and “How to Build Credit?”
