PORTLAND, Maine – Evergreen Credit Union said it has entered into partnerships with two community sports teams: Maine Mayhem Football and Maine Footy United Women’s Soccer.
The credit union has become a Platinum Sponsor of Maine Mayhem Football, which is one of 60 teams in the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA).
“Last year the Mayhem were the Northeast Regional Champions. We are striving for even greater success this year,” Kate Archambault, Maine Mayhem’s treasurer, said in a statement. “We can’t achieve that goal without the support of our community partners like Evergreen Credit Union.”
Maine Footy, meanwhile, plays in the United Women’s Soccer League and is entering its second season.
“Not only do we have a top team, but we’ve funded a second team for the best high school girls in southern Maine. That’s a new concept for anybody—that the program is funded and free,” said Todd Sniper, Maine Footy’s director of football and board director. “Without our fantastic sponsors, like Evergreen Credit Union, this doesn’t happen.”
Why Program Was Created
The $553-milliion Evergreen Credit Union said its Community Partners program was created in 2016 to develop deeper connections with organizations and nonprofits that echo Evergreen’s mission.
“Our team invests time and energy into our Community Partners so we have the privilege to help further their missions,” President/CEO Jason Lindstrom said in a statement.
