BURLINGTON, Vt.–One Credit Union has named a new CEO.
The credit union said Brett Smith is its new leader, succeeding Jerry Cross, who retired following 32 years of service.
Smith has been part of One Credit Union for three years, most recently as chief financial officer.
“Brett did a terrific job aligning us internally, and financially, in the wake of the merger,” said Chairman Jeff Taft. “He is a natural choice to continue our evolution as One Credit Union.”
“One CU has been through some tremendous changes since merging three separate credit unions into One in 2010," Smith said in a statement. "However, we are no longer in that constant state of 'change.' We are now evolving, enhancing, and building on our strengths and member satisfaction to take One Credit Union to the next level.”
Smith has more than 19 years of experience in retail financial services, having worked at Ledyard National Bank and Lake Sunapee Savings Bank.
