WASHINGTON—CUNA has seen some staffing changes in its lobbying and executive areas, with two people leaving and another two joining the trade group.
Robin Cook is leaving CUNA to join the American Bankers Association as vice president and senior legislative counsel. Cook has worked on a number of projects while at CUNA, including recent work to develop and draft an amicus brief that CUNA submitted to a Federal Court of Appeals in a surcharging case. Cook’s last day is April 24.
In May, Jillian Hitt, executive assistant to chief advocacy officer Ryan Donovan for the past three years, is leaving CUNA to begin a new chapter in Arizona. While at CUNA Hitt has worked on several projects, the Charter Review and Enhancement Task Force and the Compendium Review.
Joining CUNA will be Elizabeth Eurgubian as deputy chief advocacy officer for regulatory and executive branch relations and senior counsel. Eurgubian is joining CUNA from the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) where she has served since 2009 as vice president and senior regulatory counsel.
Also coming to CUNA in May will be Leah Dempsey as senior director of advocacy and counsel. Dempsey was previously with the Community Financial Services Association (CFSA), where she has served as policy director since 2013. Prior to her work at CFSA, Dempsey worked as legislative counsel for the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals.
CUNA’s Donovan said plans are to add replacements for Cook and Hitt in the coming weeks.
