FT. WAYNE, Ind.–Public Service Credit Union here once again has supported one of the more unique holiday traditions by a CU.
For the past three years PSCU has sent out a survey to its members asking, “What are your holiday wishes? And if you could choose a gift for someone in need, what would you give?”
For some of those who respond, PSCU said it does something “extraordinary” as part of its Project Giveback.
Created in 2020 to “invigorate the spirit of giving during a difficult year, for members, staff, and the Fort Wayne community, the credit union said it has created a “tradition,” and for Project Giveback 2022 hundreds of surveys were submitted. PSCU said the submissions included “many heartwarming stories, asking for gifts for others.”
“The staff sprang into action and made a giant list. They shopped, and wrapped, gifts big and small for young and old. Then they invited guests and their families to share in the holiday spirit and the joy of opening their gifts,” PSCU said.
Mrs. Claus was even there for photos and to remind us there is so much to be thankful for, PSCU added.
‘A Lot Bigger’
“This year we did a lot more than we’ve done in the past; our presents were a lot bigger this year,” said PSCU’s Casey Elliott. “We had a lot of our members ask for a gift for someone else rather than a gift for themselves, which made it even more special.”
