ALBANY, N.Y.–With the once-every-four-years Leap Day taking place on Saturday, First New York FCU said it plans to participate in #LeapOfKindnessDay and use the extra day to do something kind for someone else.
The credit union has partnered with the Capital Region Blue Star Mothers of America to send “Freedom Boxes” to deployed military. During February members of the credit union, employees and the community have been donating everything from snacks, beef jerky, toiletries and socks to service men and women.
All donations are being dropped off at any First New York Federal Credit Union branches.
On Saturday at 10 a.m., in First New York’s headquarters building, both Blue Star Mothers and First New York employees will gather to pack all the collected donations.
