SANTA FE, N.M.—The government may have reopened, but tomorrow Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU) is partnering with a local restaurant to provide $10 gift cards for federal government employees who were affected by the furlough as part of a big “Taco Tuesday” event.
Between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., three DNCU locations will offers gift cards for a Taco Tuesday lunch at El Parasol for any federal government employee who has been affected by the government shutdown.
“We understand that these times can be stressful, we’ve heard the stories and want to extend our giving to the communities we serve by being there when it matters most,” said Chuck Valenti, president/CEO of Del Norte Credit Union, prior to the government reopening. “With this small gesture we would simply like to give thanks to the men and women who are either working without pay or are furloughed and brighten up their day a little. A nice meal goes a long way, and here at DNCU we are your friends and neighbors—we love El Parasol tacos and hope you do, too.”
Federal employees may visit the DNCU locations at the specified times below on Jan. 29th and receive a $10 El Parasol gift card for Taco Tuesday upon presenting a federal government issued ID.
Del Norte has also been providing other financial assistance to affected members, including flexible payment plans and a Government Furlough Assistance Plan.
