HOPEWELL, Va. –One of the 60 credit unions that was hit by the ransomware attack on a data processor and which led to service outages is reporting it is back online.
After its systems went offline on Nov. 26, Vantage Point FU said it had been able to restore services as of Dec. 7, according to WRIC.
The ransomware attack hit the CUSO Ongoing Operations and the data processor Fedcomp, both of which are units of Trellance.
“Our data processor has finally gotten us back online with them. We are working diligently to get all withdrawals and deposits posted with the effective date of your transaction,” VPFCU in the statement, according to the report. “This will take some time so please be patient with us. Rest assured your money is still safe at Vantage Point FCU as it has always been.”
WRIC 8 News said it was told by the credit union it is currently working to clear backlogs and hopes to be fully functional by this week.
‘Working Very Hard’
“We have been working very hard to accommodate each and every member to the best of our ability and want to thank those that have reached out giving us their support and understanding while we are dealing with this issue,” Vantage Point said in a statement.
The news outlet said it had been contacted by multiple members who complained about lack of access to their accounts, nonworking debit cards and inabilities to withdraw funds.
