On Prime Day, CU’s Promo Sees A Prime Usage Increase

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich.— MSU Federal Credit Union is reporting it saw an increase of 63% in debit card usage and 65% increase in credit card usage over 2017 as part of its annual Amazon Prime Day promotion.

On Prime Day on July 16, MSU Federal Credit Union offered members an opportunity to win gift cards for using their MSUFCU Visa debit or credit cards once again on Amazon Prime Day (July 16, 2018). The credit union said the promotion encouraged card-holding members to learn about and responsibly use their debit and credit cards while offering a fun and engaging promotion. At the end of the promotion, one MSUFCU member who used a MSUFCU debit card and another one who used a MSUFCU credit card during Amazon Prime Day were randomly selected to each receive a $250 gift card.

The credit union said rates on its cards are as low as 8.9% APR, and it charges no annual fees, no application fees, no balance transfer fees, 1% cash back on all purchases, $0 fraud liability, and card lock and mobile location confirmation.

“Helping our members manage their finances so they can achieve their dreams is part of our mission,” said Deidre Davis, MSUFCU’s chief marketing officer. “Through this promotion, we encouraged our members to use their MSUFCU debit or credit cards to take advantage of Amazon Prime Day specials while also empowering them with knowledge to help them make the right financial decisions for their situations.”
