ROCHESTER, Mich.–Oakland University Credit Union has signed a deal with its namesake university for the naming rights to the school’s arena.
According to the credit union, the $5 million, 10-year deal will rename the athletic facility, known as the O'Rena, to the OU Credit Union O'Rena. The naming rights go into effect July 1.
The O'Rena, opened in 1998, is home to the Oakland men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams, according to the university. OUCU has been a sponsor of Oakland University athletics for the past 10 years.
Oakland University Credit Union is a sub-brand of the $7.2-billion MSUFCU in East Lansing.
