WASHINGTON–The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency(OCC) said it is now soliciting academic- and policy-focused research on how fintech entities and nonbanks are affecting banking services, including the markets for lending, deposits and payments.
It is calling for papers and said those that are selected will be presented Nov. 7-8 at the OCC’s headquarters in Washington to an audience of OCC staff and invited guests.
“These presentations will serve as a platform for interested academic, regulatory, and other experts to discuss research that explores how the banking system, and community banks in particular, leverage technology and respond to the growth of new providers of banking services, whether competitive or cooperative,” OCC said.
According to the OCC, the submitted papers must represent original and unpublished research.
Additional information about submitting a paper or research, and participating in the November meeting is available here.
