In a statement, the credit union said it will look to name a permanent CEO in the next three months, with Christian among the candidates.

Nusenda Chief Community Engagement Officer Robin Brulé told the Albuquerque Journal “it was his decisions” to step down. “He wants to spend more time with his family.”

Laudick has been CEO for 26 years.

“It is a change, but we’ll continue to evolve with great, positive impact in the community and with our members,” Christian told the Journal. “People will see more of Nusenda doing what it’s always done.”

The $2.3-billion Nusenda is the largest CU in the state and has grown by approximately $600 million since 2017, and by a third over the last four years. It has approximately 200,000 members.
