Note, Grab, Go: Surveillance Nabs Suspect In Credit Union Robbery

PLAINS TWP, Pa. — A Glen Lyon, Pa., man has been arraigned after allegedly robbing the City Mart Federal Credit Union on South River Street here, the Times Leader reported.

John Tracy Pratt, 63, entered the credit union shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, asked to speak with “Mr. Clark,” and handed a teller a note reading, “This is a robbery give me $2,000,” according to a criminal complaint.

As the teller began counting the money, Pratt allegedly reached over the counter, grabbed the cash, and fled in an older-model Ford SUV, the Times Leader said.

Investigators say surveillance footage helped them identify Pratt, who was taken into custody after leaving a home on Hazle Street in Wilkes-Barre.

Pratt was arraigned before District Judge David Barilla in Forty Fort on two counts of robbery and one count of receiving stolen property. He was committed to Luzerne County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 bail, the Times Leader said.
