Northern Community Announces CEO’s Retirement; Names Successor

Larry Champeaux and Tina Hoff

DULUTH, Minn.–Northern Communities Credit Union (NCCYou) has announced the retirement date of its CEO, as well as his successor.

The credit union said President/CEO Larry Champeaux will retire Dec. 2, 2016, and will be succeeded by Trina Hoff, currently NCCYou’s executive vice president.

Hoff has been an employee of NCCYou for 22 years.

“My leadership style embraces an open-door policy in which honest and truthful communications are a top priority, and each employee and member is ensured of his/her personal value and importance,” said Hoff in a statement.

Champeaux praised the choice of Hoff as the CU’s new leader.

“She's a young professional and has over 20 years of experience at the credit union,” said Champeaux. “To have that combination of experience and youth...I think the credit union is in great hands moving forward.”

Champeaux has 28 years of experience in credit unions, including eight with NCCYou. In retirement, he’ll be spending more time with his wife, Becky, his two adult children, and his eight grandchildren. He’s also looking forward to spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and golfing.

Hoff said she is looking forward to taking on the new role and to continue encouraging the NCCYou community with a positive philosophy. “A happy workplace is a successful workplace, and I will foster this attitude every day to ensure we are meeting the needs of our employees, our members and the credit union. It is truly an honor that the board of directors has chosen me to lead this credit union.”
