PORTSMOUTH, N.H.–Northeast Credit Union has launched a “Virtual Community Center” as part of its Love Your Community project. That project is designed to highlight goodness and encourage people to practice humanity in their everyday lives to build stronger, kinder communities.
In a statement on the site the credit union said, “The Love Your Community Project is a kindness movement dedicated to encouraging people to practice kindness in their everyday lives. Here, we share stories of kindness, offer ideas for doing good, and create connections for those looking to give back. We are proud to be a part of something bigger than ourselves, united by one common goal: bringing people together.”
The site offers a dozen idea areas, labeled Hanging In, Entertainment, Eating Well, Helping Out, Wellness and Education.
Within the various categories are suggestions for virtual game nights, going on a bear hunt (courtesy of the new Hampshire Bear Hunt Facebook page), ideas for feeding the body, mind and soul, local restaurants that are open, ways to keep kids active indoors, and more.
Pulldown menus include Kindness Stories, Community Outreach, Contests and more.
“Be kind to others. Your random act of kindness might become someone’s best lifetime story,” the site states.
