MADAWASKA, Maine–Susan G. Whitehead has announced her retirement from the $240-million NorState Federal Credit Union. During her 34 years with NorState FCU, Whitehead has held various positions and has spent the last nine years as president/CEO, according to the Maine Credit Union League.
Her appointment also made the first female CEO in NorState FCU’s history, the league added.
“Her time in service to our credit union has brought a wealth of institutional knowledge and has been a key component in my ability to serve the credit union well,” said Board Chairman Leigh Smith, Chairman of NorState FCU’s Board of Directors. “I wish her a relaxing and restful future.”
Added Whitehead in a statement to the league, “In my 34 years of service to NorState FCU, I have been honored to work with many devoted and dedicated financial professionals throughout the state and within our organization. It has been a journey of learning, development, and member service that I will forever cherish.”
The credit union has not announced a successor.
