ARLINGTON, Va.—The nominating ballot phase of the 2023 NAFCU board elections has ended.
Incumbent candidates Melanie Kennedy of Southwest Financial FCU in Farmers Branch, Texas, and Stephanie Sherrodd of Sandia Laboratory FCU in Albuquerque, N.M., ran in uncontested races, officially winning reelection for the Southern Region and Western Region three-year terms, respectively.
Meanwhile, NAFCU reported there are six nominees for two at-large seats (three-year terms):
- Whitney Anderson, Elements Financial Federal Credit Union, Indianapolis
- Karen Harbin, incumbent, Commonwealth Credit Union, Frankfort, Ky.
- Eric Hepkins, Cornerstone Community Federal Credit Union, Lockport, N.Y.
- Chad Merrihew, Leading Edge Credit Union, Worthington, Minn.
- Tricia Szurgot, Securityplus Federal Credit Union, Baltimore
- Brian Waldron, Dort Financial Credit Union, Grand Blanc, Mich.
Official voting ballots will be sent via email April 26, NAFCU said.
The elected board members will begin their terms at NAFCU's Annual Business Meeting, scheduled to be held June 27 at 3:30 p.m. during the association’s annual conference, Engage 2023 in Long Beach, Calif.
