WASHINGTON—The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) is requesting public nominations for members to serve on its Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Advisory Group.
Membership on the panel is open to organizations, rather than individuals, which can be financial institutions, trade groups, non-federal regulators or law enforcement agencies that are subject to BSA requirements, NAFCU noted.
New members will serve three-year terms on the advisory panel. Details about the requirements of membership and how to submit a nomination are available through the Federal Register.
In April, NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger met with FinCEN Director Kenneth Blanco and shared the credit union perspective on regulations under the BSA and customer due diligence (CDD) rules in an effort to improve the industry's regulatory environment.
