WASHINGTON—Nine credit unions are among 19 financial institutions being recognized with a new honor, the America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence.
The award, in its first year, recognizes banks and credit unions that went above and beyond to encourage people to save money during America Saves Week. The CUs winning the award include Belvoir FCU, Democracy FCU, Electro Savings CU, FedEx Employees Credit Association, Keys FCU, Luso FCU, Pen Air FCU, Security Service FCU, and St. Louis Community CU.
Recipients were chosen by two selection committees, one for banks and another for credit unions. The committee of credit union leaders was led by Gigi Hyland of the National Credit Union Foundation.
