HIGHTSTOWN, N.J.—The New Jersey Credit Union League’s “Banking You Can Trust” consumer awareness campaign kicked off its “Leaders Series” on local NJ 101.5 FM radio station.
XCEL FCU President/CEO and NJCUL Board Member Linda McFadden spoke on-air around 8:50 a.m. with popular radio host—and proud member of multiple credit unions—Bill Spadea.
McFadden discussed the benefits of joining a credit union, the difference between credit unions and banks, personal finance tips for Millennials, and more.
The Leaders Series highlights the credit union difference by demonstrating how credit union CEOs care about the financial well-being of their members, versus how bank CEOs see their customers as just a source of profit. Each month, the Banking You Can Trust campaign and NJ 101.5 FM will feature an NJCUL member credit union CEO on-air to speak about credit unions, personal finance, and more, according to the league. Broadcast live during the morning commute, the show will also take questions from callers. New Jersey consumers can also submit questions on the www.BankingYouCanTrust.com website, which will be answered via email and may be read and answered on-air.
“The Leaders Series puts New Jersey credit unions front and center of a large, captive audience during the prime drive-time listening period,” said NJCUL President/CEO David Frankil of the new consumer awareness initiative. “NJ 101.5 FM reaches more New Jersey consumers listening on their way to work each morning than any other New Jersey media channel, with coverage extending nearly the entire length of the state. Through the monthly Leaders Series, as well as our on-air ads and Bill Spadea’s live endorsements, we’re bringing credit unions and their message to the station’s over one-million listeners.”
