New England FCU In Jazzy New Sponsorship

BURLINGTON, Vt.–The Burlington Discover Jazz Festival has a new presenting sponsor: New England Federal Credit Union, which has signed on with a three-year commitment.

Discover Jazz will again present 10 days of live music throughout downtown Burlington beginning on June 2, 2017.

John J Dwyer, Jr, president and CEO of NEFCU, told Vermont Business Magazine the sponsorship agreement is part of the CU’s focus on building strong, healthy communities that directly benefit the people who live in them.

“We are a big supporter of events and programs that can make a real difference in improving the quality of life in our area,” Dwyer told Vermont Business. “This is a great event with a long-standing history, one which helps local businesses and provides an enjoyable experience for Vermonters and visitors alike. We are very pleased to lend our support, and we’re already looking forward to next year.”

The previous presenting sponsor was Northfield Savings Bank.

The 2017 Festival will mark the 34th anniversary of the festival, which is known for bringing legendary musicians like Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn and Mavis Staples to the Queen City. The event is one of the state’s most accessible music festivals, offering over 100 hours of free live music, and is a major showcase for musical artists from Vermont and around the region, according to Vermont Business.
