MADISON, Wis./WASHINGTON –The new CUNA CEO Council said it will host its first-ever conference at the Hotel del Coronado in Coronado, Calif., Oct. 16-18.
“Centered around high-level issues of leadership, strategy and business growth, the CUNA CEO Council Conference will provide a venue for credit union CEOs to expand their knowledge, discuss recent developments and network with their peers,” the organization said in a statement.
“What’s remarkable about the CUNA CEO Council and this first-ever national conference is that this has truly been a grassroots movement, driven by CEOs who experienced CUNA Councils as they rose through the ranks and wanted to create a similar experience for CEOs,” said CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle.
The Council said conference sessions on CEO- focused topics will include:
- Strategy execution
- Envisioning the future
- Shared CEO success stories, insights and great ideas
- Business models
- Personal leadership
Three keynote speakers will present at the conference: Jeffrey Downs, regional practice director, Franklin Covey; Gian Paul Gonzalez, public speaker and executive director, Hope & Future Youth Center; and Randy Harrington, PhD, founder and CEO, Strategic Arts and Sciences.
“There are a lot of conferences where CEOs mix it up with board members, senior staff, league executives and solutions providers, which is certainly valuable, but this is different,” said Nader Moghaddam, CUNA CEO Council chair and president/CEO of Financial Partners CU, Downey, Calif. “This is by, for, and about credit union CEOs and the distinct issues, situations and concerns that face those of us in this one of a kind position.”
