MADISON, Wis.–Two credit unions have named new leadership.
In Wisconsin, the $615-million Heartland CU has named Angela Hanson to lead the organization and succeed the retiring Sally Dischler, who has been CEO for the past 21 years.
Hanson has more than 22 years of credit union and management experience, including strategic planning, innovation, and human resources, and holds designations that include Certified Chief Executive (CCE), Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE), and Society for Human Resources Management – Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
She is active in the credit union industry, serving as the board chair of the Wisconsin CUES Council and serves on Corporate Central Credit Union’s board.
“I have complete confidence that Angela is the right person to fill the CEO role as I hand over the reins with my retirement,” said Dischler. “She is a proven leader who will take the credit union into the next phase of growth and innovation.”

Added Hanson, “I am honored to be named the next CEO of this great credit union and to continue its core mission of serving our members. As CEO, I look forward to leading Heartland Credit Union into the future creating greater value for our members, employees, and the communities we serve.”
Hanson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with a Minor in Sociology from Winona State University in Winona, Minn.
New CEO at PFCU
In Portland, Mich., the $791-miillion PFCU Credit Union has named Michele Makley as its next president/CEO of the credit union, Makley will succeed Harvey Hoskins and assume responsibilities on Jan. 1, 2023. She previously served as EVP.

Makley has more than 29 years of financial management experience and executive leadership across all functional areas. She also continues to be involved with the community through various roles, including having previously served as the treasurer for the Lake Odessa Chamber and currently serves on several community boards and programs, including Ionia County Habitat for Humanity, Grand River Chapter of Credit Unions, Treasurer for the Lakewood Youth Baseball Club and the Lakewood High School Career and Technical Education Committee.
The credit union has named as its new EVP Joe Krieger, who has been with the credit union for the past nine years, serving as SVP-lending.
