New CEOs Named at Two Credit Unions; One Brings ‘Unique Experience’ to the Job

LITTLETON, Colo.–Two credit unions have announced new leadership.

Darius Wise

In Colorado, the $346.5-million Red Rocks Credit Union has selected Darius Wise to lead the organization. Prior to being named to the position, Wise had been serving in an interim role.

Wise began his career with the credit union in 2019 as chief impact officer. Before working in the financial services sector, he spent more than 17 years in pastoral ministry and leadership including key executive positions with Denver United Church and CrossPurpose, a nonprofit that seeks to help families in the Denver area escape poverty and pursue their dreams.

In addition, he has served on several not- for-profit boards, including Denver Institute for Faith & Work and Young Life, the credit union said.

‘An Outsider’

“My experience is unique. Until three years ago, I was an outsider to the credit union industry,” said Wise. “I think it’s just this unique experience combined with leadership roles in service-based industries that positioned me well to come in and look at things differently. I’m thrilled the board has placed the trust in me to continue to propel Red Rocks Credit Union on this upward trajectory, and look forward to continuing to do the great work our team has been so focused on in recent years.

Wise has a Certificate for Leadership in an Exponentially Changing World from MIT’s Sloan School of Management, is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Intercultural Leadership from Denver Seminary, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Morris Brown College in Atlanta.

Red Rocks Credit Union has more than 17,000 members.

Truity CU said Beldner has extensive experience in information technology, as well as experience in strategic planning, leadership, and innovation. He got his Bachelor of Science from Columbia College and holds two Master’s degrees.

“I am honored to be joining Truity Credit Union,” said Beldner. “I am humbled and excited to start this new chapter in my career. I am a big believer in the mission of credit unions and the idea of people helping people and making a difference in the lives of their members and their communities. I appreciate the confidence the board of directors has placed in me to lead the credit union into the future and serve the membership.”
