HONOLULU, Hawaii—Mark Munemitsu has taken over as president and CEO of Honolulu FCU, succeeding Warren Nakamura, who retired last month.
Munemitsu was tapped to follow Nakamura in October.
Munemitsu joined the $239-million CU in March 2004 as assistant to the president. He also served as vice president of finance and information systems and senior vice president of administration.
Prior to Honolulu FCU, Munemitsu served as president of the Honolulu Fire Department FCU for nine years.
Munemitsu told Pacific Business News that Honolulu FCU, currently expanding its locations, is trying to attract more borrowers while maintaining a high level of service to the existing membership. He also said the CU is trying to attract younger members.
Meanwhile, in Lubbock, Texas, Alliance FCU has named Scott Rose as its new president/CEO. Rose is currently president/CEO of Kelly Community Credit Union in Tyler, Texas, and has 23 years experience in leading a credit union. He is also president of the Tyler Area Chapter of Credit Unions, and a trustee on the board of the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation. Rose will take over at AFCU in April.
