New CEOs Announced at CUs in Indiana, Massachusetts

WABASH, Ind.–Credit unions in Indiana and Massachusetts have named new CEOs.

Dustin Cuttriss

In the Hoosier State, Beacon Credit Union has named a new president and CEO.

The $1.5-billion Beacon said it has selected Dustin Cuttriss to lead the organization, after previously service as CFO.

Cuttris will  assume the role after current president and CEO Kevin Willour retires at the end of 2022, the credit union said.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to succeed Kevin Willour and continue to create value for Beacon’s members and the communities in which we serve,” said Cuttriss in a statement. “In working with BCU’s Senior Leadership team and all our employees, I plan on continuing to build upon the strong foundation that Kevin has put in place. I am excited and confident about our future.”

Cuttriss has more than 25 years in financial services, including the last 10 years as CFO.

‘Integral Part’

“He has been an integral part of guiding the strategic direction of the credit union in terms of financial impact of products and services, investments, mergers and acquisition evaluations, along with the development and modifications of internal policies and procedures,” Beacon CU said.

Cuttriss received his BA, Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has also completed the Graduate School of Bank Investments and Financial Administration from the University of South Carolina and American Bankers Association Compliance School. He is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and American Institute of Public Accountants.

Cuttriss is a Supervisory Committee member of Corporate One Federal Credit Union. He also serves as a board member of Financial Managers Society, Waypoint of Wabash and Pilgrims Rest Cemetery of Huntington, Inc.

Debbie Guiney

New CEO in Massachusetts

Meanwhile, in Worcester, Mass, the $81-million AllCom Credit Union has named Laura Ybarra to succeed the retiring Debbie Guiney as president and CEO.

Ybarra is currently executive vice president. Guiney has been with the credit union for more than 44 years.

A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, Guiney started working at the credit union in 1977, when it offered only savings accounts, small personal loans and auto loans.

“Under her leadership, AllCom has grown into the full-service community organization that it is today, serving utility employees, postal employees, and members of the community,” the credit union said in a statement. “ Guiney has worked tirelessly to help the credit union’s members meet their financial goals and to make a difference in their lives.”

The statement added Guiney is “passionate about the credit union community and has been a fierce advocate for local veterans in the community.”

“Over a remarkable 44-year career, Debbie was responsible for the development and success of our organization,” said Board Chair John Naughton.  “Her dedication to our members, employees, and the credit union was evident in every decision that she made. She has built a strong team and created a solid foundation as we enter our 100th year. Her guidance and friendship will be greatly missed by the entire board.”

A ‘Wealth of Experience’

Ybarra will officially become president & CEO effective Jan. 1, 2022.

“Ybarra brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position,” the credit union said. “She first joined the AllCom team in 1997, as a high school summer intern, and continued to work part-time while pursuing her college degree. Over the years, Ybarra has held positions in almost every area of the credit union providing her with invaluable experience for this role.”

“Laura plays a significant role at AllCom,” said Guiney. “Her intelligence, dedication, work ethic and commitment will continue to contribute to the overall success of AllCom. She embodies the true spirit of what a credit union is.”

AllCom has more than 4,200 members.
