New Branch Projecting ROI With Tellerless Branch

FOREST SPRINGS, Ky.—Park Community CU here has opened a new branch in which it is using interactive teller machines in place of tellers in the facility.

The six ITMs provide video links to live tellers in a centralized location; four of the machines are located inside the facility, while two are at an outside drive-through.

The 3,200-square-foot office has four employees. Park Community told local media the branch cost approximately $2.5 million, with the cost of the ITMs $58,000 each. It expects to see ROI on that ITM investment as one teller is able to operate machines at two or three locations. PCCU noted the machines also help prevent robberies and fraud, as employees do not have access to cash.
