WESTBROOK, Maine–Nearly one-fifth of the 80 companies that were recently announced as 2017 Best Places to Work in Maine are credit unions or related organizations, according to the Maine league.
The companies were identified by Mainebiz.
"While the popularity of credit unions for financial services is higher than ever in Maine, it is great to see credit unions honored for being outstanding employers, too,” said Todd Mason, president of the Maine Credit Union League, which, along with its subsidiary, Synergent, were among organizations designated as 2017 Best Places to Work in Maine. “Having 14 of the 80 companies on this year's list be credit unions and related organizations highlights credit unions for being good to their employees, as well as their communities, members and many others.”
In addition to the League and Synergent, the following credit unions were designated as 2017 Best Places to Work in Maine: (Small employers) - Oxford FCU; Sabattus Regional CU; Trademark FCU; and TruChoice FCU; (Medium employers): cPort CU; Down East CU; Evergreen CU; Infinity FCU; Maine State CU; PeoplesChoice CU; Town & Country FCU; University CU; and York County FCU.
All of the 2017 honorees will be celebrated at the Best Places to Work in Maine awards ceremony on October 10, 2017, at the Augusta Civic Center, as well as be listed in a special publication by Mainebiz. The final rankings will be announced at the event.
