Navy FCU Investing $100 Million In Facilities Expansion

WINCHESTER, Va.—Navy FCU is investing $100 million to expand its operations center here in Frederick County, creating 1,400 jobs.

The project will nearly double Navy Federal’s workforce employee count and physical square footage in Frederick, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported.

“An expansion of this magnitude is transformational for Frederick County and for the Commonwealth, as Navy Federal is a critical partner providing good paying job opportunities for thousands of hardworking Virginians,” said Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe during his State of the Commonwealth Address.

McAuliffe approved a $2-million grant from the Commonwealth Opportunity Fund to assist Frederick County with the project, the newspaper reported.

The $79-billion Navy Federal Credit Union is based in Vienna, Va., and has 14,000 employees worldwide.
