Navy FCU Holds Topping Out Ceremony As Part Of Expansion Project

WINCHESTER, Va.–Navy Federal has marked the topping out of a building that is part of a $102-million expansion with a ceremony.

The topping out took place when construction workers placed the last and highest piece of steel on the new structure.

The ceremony drew more than 150 people, including construction workers, county officials and Navy Federal staff, according to the Winchester Star. The expansion will create 1,400 new jobs and more than double the size of the facility’s current workforce.

Navy Federal Credit Union is the largest private employer in Frederick County, Va. It is headquartered in Vienna, Va.

The expanded facility includes a four-story, 240,000-square-foot building and five-story parking structure to join two existing Navy Federal Credit Union call centers already in place.

The building is expected to be ready for occupancy in late 2019.

The $92-billion Navy Federal has approximately 7.9-million members.
