MADISON, Wis.–CUNA has announced the theme for this year’s National Credit Union Youth Month in April: “Unleash the Power of Saving at Your Credit Union.”
“Youth Month presents an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of the credit union movement with younger members. It plants the seeds of financial well-being at an early age,” said Megan Crowson, manager of consumer engagement for CUNA.
According to CUNA, in 2022 713 new youth accounts were opened and 23,490 deposits made during Youth Month. Participating credit unions encouraged kids to share, spend and save wisely through their credit union with giveaways, contests, virtual financial education and more, CUNA added.
