MADISON, Wis.– The National Credit Union Foundation has launched the first-ever national Biz Kid$ Showcase, which it said will allow creativity to continue in the current virtual world.
The Showcase is being presented in partnership with the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation, CrossState Credit Union Foundation, the RMJ Foundation, the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation and the Credit Union Association of New Mexico.
BizKid$ is the credit union-supported financial literacy program that airs on PBS.
According to the Foundation, as a participant in the Biz Kid$ Showcase, students will complete learning modules and earn points.
“Students will work through three learning modules, each focused on a different aspect of business planning,” the Foundation said. “Each learning module, made up of a webinar, 2 Biz Kid$ episodes and one or more action steps, will teach students how to create a business plan. Once all three learning modules are completed and business plans are submitted, students will work to complete their showcase project, which will be reviewed by a panel of credit union experts or ‘investors.’”
The Deadline & The Awards
Participants will have until April 30 to submit their showcase work. The top three business plans from each state will be awarded a cash prize and move on to national-level judging, the Foundation said.
At the national level, the three students with the highest point totals from each state will be judged by a second panel of credit union “investors.” The top three business plans from across the country will be awarded a cash prize, the NCUF reported.
Registration will be available through April 26. Any questions about the Showcase or Biz Kid$ should be emailed to Danielle Brown, Foundation Engagement Director, at dbrown@ncuf.coop.
