SEATAC, Wash.–For the first time ever, the governor of Washington addressed credit unions gathered here for their annual meeting.
Gov. Jay Inslee told the Northwest Credit Union Association’s Maxx annual meeting that there are a “lot of great things about our state, and the fact we have such strong credit unions is one of them.”
Inslee noted that 3.2 million of Washington State’s seven-million citizens are now credit union members, himself included. “The way you help your local communities is really amazing,” the governor said.
Inslee then moved onto initiatives in the state he said he has championed, including expanded education, reduced college tuition, and investments in infrastructure.
