NJ/PA Foundations Offering Special COVID-19 Grants

HARRISBURG, Penn./HIGHTSTOWN, N.J.– The New Jersey and Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundations are offering a special COVID-19 grant program for credit unions.

The grants are being made possible by a grant from Alloya Corporate FCU.

According to the foundations, the focus of the grants is to help credit unions create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment and to address other needs that the credit union may be facing as a result of the pandemic.  The goal of the program is to ensure the health and safety of credit union staff and members, the foundations added.

The grants are limited to $1,000 maximum per credit union.  Applicants may be credit unions in either New Jersey or Pennsylvania, which are served by the CrossState Credit Union Association. Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Other vendors or credit unions wishing to add to this funding pool are being encouraged to contact the foundations.

As an example of the kinds of purposes for which the grants can be used, the foundations cited office needs related to adapting a physical office or workforce to serve members during the COVID-19 crisis, including physical barriers, protective gear (e.g. masks, gloves), sanitizing supplies, and services, etc.
