NET CU Announces Open Date for New Headquarters

SCRANTON, Penn.–NET Credit Union here plans to open its new downtown headquarters on Jan. 17. Plans call for using the Martin Luther King holiday to help get the move in completed.

The $184-million credit union will be opening a two-story, 18,000-square-foot headquarters to replace what it said is its current overcrowded space. NET CU is spending $5 million to remodel the building that was formerly occupied by Duke Tire. The new building will be home to approximately 30 employees.

Work on the project began in November of 2015.

While the project has been underway a mystery was discovered—beneath the floor tiles a safe was found. The safe turned out to be empty, the Times Tribune reported.

NET CU has 16,000 members.
