NCUA to Host Webinar on New MERIT Examination System

ALEXANDRIA, Va.—NCUA will host a webinar Sept. 8 offering an update as it rolls out its new examination system. The webinar will begin at 2 p.m. ET.

As NCUA migrates away from its AIRES exam solution, the agency said the webinar will focus on the its new examination platform, including the agency’s Modern Examination and Risk Identification Tool, or MERIT.

NCUA said the webinar will discuss the benefits of these systems to credit unions and federal and state examiners, and it will also provide information on:

  • Data Exchange Application (DEXA). “This web-based application can be used by credit unions to import member loan and share data to the NCUA for examination purposes.”
  • NCUA Connect. “This is a common entry point for authorized users to securely access NCUA’s applications, like MERIT and others.”
  • Admin Portal. “This secure portal provides state regulatory agencies and credit unions access to NCUA Connect and other examination-related applications.”

‘Innovative & Forward Thinking’

“The NCUA should be innovative, forward-thinking, and risk-focused,” NCUA Chairman Todd M. Harper said. “MERIT and its related systems are just that, and they will be the foundation for the agency’s examination program going forward. I encourage stakeholders across the federally insured credit union system to register and participate in this important webinar.”

Registration for the hour-long webinar is now open. Participants will be able to log into the webinar and view it on their computers or mobile devices using the registration link. Participants should allow pop-ups from this website to ensure full functionality, NCUA said.

Questions can be submitted at WebinarQuestions@ncua.gov. The email’s subject line should read, “NCUA Modernized Examination Tools.”
