ALEXANDRIA, Va.— In recognition of Black History Month, NCUA will host a webinar titled “Closing the Wealth Gap: A Conversation on Black Wealth and Increasing Financial Equity” on Feb. 23.
According to the agency, the event will bring together credit union leaders, federal government officials, and financial education stakeholders for a virtual discussion that aims to:
- Inform credit unions about the historical and systemic challenges that impact African American financial mobility
- Raise awareness about the importance of advancing financial inclusion
- Provide resources and share best practices to engage with African American consumers better.
Registration is now open. This hour-long webinar will begin at 1 p.m. ET. There is no charge to attend, and there will be a question-and-answer period afterward.
NCUA said participants can submit questions during the presentation or in advance by emailing WebinarQuestions@ncua.gov. The email’s subject line should read, “Closing the Wealth Gap Webinar.”
