ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The NCUA will hold an open board meeting on Thursday, Sept. 18, with a single agenda item: the Share Insurance Fund Quarterly Report, according to the agency’s website.
The agency continues to operate with only one board member, Chairman Kyle Hauptman. Former board members Todd Harper and Tanya Otsuka—who were fired by the Trump Administration—remain barred from reinstatement while their lawsuit proceeds through the courts. Both had participated in the July open board meeting, but shortly afterward, the U.S. Court of Appeals issued a stay preventing their return. The court ruled the two Democrats will not be reinstated while the D.C. Court of Appeals considers whether their removal was legal.
Looking ahead, the NCUA’s posted schedules show open board meetings in October, November, and January remain listed as “tentative.”
