ALEXANDRIA, Va.–NCUA’s Office of Financial Technology and Access said it has established “office hours” where representatives from credit unions, fintechs and CU associations can schedule time to speak about financial technology with representatives from the NCUA’s fintech and credit union programs.
According to the agency, potential topic areas of discussion can include, but are not limited to, questions related to emerging technology in credit unions, fintech inquiries from credit unions, financial inclusion through technology inquiries, and general questions or points of discussion related to barriers experienced by credit unions and fintech companies when interacting with one another.
NCUA said stakeholders can submit a request to speak with the Financial Technology and Access team during open office hour periods by emailing fintechmail@ncua.gov. Those messages should include the organization’s name and the topic the individual/organization would like to discuss during office hours in your request, NCUA said.
Meeting times will be limited to 30 minutes.
‘High Volume of Requests’ Expected
Submission requests for 2024 office hours will open 60 days prior to the upcoming office hours occurring August 20–22 and November 12–14. Requests submitted outside of this timeframe will not be considered, NCUA said.
“Due to a potential high volume of requests, the Fintech and Access team will make their best effort to accommodate meeting times during your requested office hour period,” NCUA said in a statement. “If the team is unable to meet at the requested time or fulfill your request, we invite you to request a meeting during a future open office hours period.”
About the Office
In its statement, NCUA said its Office of Financial Technology and Access identifies barriers, challenges, and opportunities credit unions face in adopting and using technology to provide financial products and services to their members.
“The office is committed to promoting the development and deployment of technologies and innovations that can expand financial inclusion and equitable and affordable consumer access within the credit union system,” NCUA said.
