ALEXANDRIA, Va.– NCUA has named Peggy Sherry as the agency’s Deputy Chief Financial Officer. Sherry was previously with the Internal Revenue Service.

Treichel said. “Her deep experience in financial management, in both the private and public sectors, has been marked by her intelligence, professionalism, innovation and sound judgment, all of which will serve NCUA and the credit unions we regulate and insure very well.”
Prior to joining NCUA, Sherry was deputy commissioner for operations support at the IRS. Her previous experience includes serving as CFO at the Department of Homeland Security and holding senior financial management positions at the United States Holocaust Museum and the Government Accountability Office.
Sherry holds a master of science degree in accounting and finance from the University of Maryland University College and a bachelor of science degree in accounting from George Mason University. She has received numerous awards for her work and is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Government Financial Manager and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.
