ALEXANDRIA, Va.— NCUA just launched its new Cybersecurity Resource Center, including an updated Automated Cybersecurity Evaluation Toolbox (ACET) for credit unions to use as a resource for assessing their cybersecurity maturity.
ACET acts as a downloadable app developed to be a “holistic cybersecurity resource” for credit unions of all sizes, the agency said.
According to NCUA, credit unions can use the tool to identify and determine their level of cybersecurity preparedness.
During its most recent board meeting, agency staff and members of the board stressed that ACET includes a self-assessment that is completely voluntary and does not introduce any new requirements or expectations on credit unions and will not be part of the examination process.
