ALEXANDRIA, Va.–NCUA said it will hold a public briefing on its proposed 2018–2019 budget at its headquarters here today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The agency released its draft 2018-2019 budget earlier this month.
The total 2018 budget is proposed to be $298.2 million—a 2.1% increase over the 2017 budget. The previous budget for 2018, as outlined in 2017 in the NCUA two-year budget projection cycle, had a $14-million increase projected. The revised version calls for only a $6.1-million increase.
The projected 2019 budget, also to be discussed at the budget briefing, will increase the overall agency budget to $302.8 million.
The 2018 NCUA budget calls for a reduction of the FTE staffing level to 1,188, a net decrease of 42 positions. NCUA is also eliminating its Atlanta regional offices, leaving operations centers in Albany, N.Y., Alexandria, Va., Austin, Texas and Tempe, Ariz.
In an interview with CUToday.info, former NCUA Chairman Dennis Dollar shared his thoughts on the NCUA budget briefing here.
A livestream broadcast of today’s proceedings will be available at www.ncua.gov. CUToday.info will have full coverage.
