ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The National Credit Union Administration Board will hold an open and closed meeting today, while also announcing a change in the dates of its December meeting.
Today’s open meeting will begin at 2 p.m. ET and the Board will consider a proposed interagency rule on the role of supervisory guidance. As CUToday.info reported here, earlier this month, NCUA has joined with other federal financial regulators in announcing their supervisory guidance does not “carry the force of law.”
The joint statement from the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, which besides NCUA includes the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Treasury (OCC); the Federal Reserve, the FDIC and the CFPB, includes a Notice of proposed rulemaking.
The open meeting will be livestreamed on NCUA.gov.
The closed meeting will begin at 2:45 p.m. and the board will consider two personnel matters.
Meanwhile, the board also announced that its Dec. 10 open and closed meetings have been rescheduled to December 17. The open meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Eastern, and will be livestreamed on the agency’s website. The closed meeting will immediately follow.
