NCUA Board To Meet This Week: Here’s What’s On Agenda

ALEXANDRIA, Va.—NCUA will host an open board meeting this week on Thursday, May 19, which will include a briefing on the agency’s efforts to modernize credit unions’ Call Reports.

It will be the first meeting chaired by Rick Metsger.
NAFCU noted that NCUA has said it plans to update the information collected in the Call Report, removing data no longer relevant and adding new data reflecting new authorities provided to credit unions through NCUA rules.
NAFCU’s March Economic & Credit Union Monitor found that credit union professionals have suggestions for how to improve the NCUA call report data collection process, including clearer instructions.

The survey found that 25% of respondents rated the clarity and helpfulness of the Call Report instructions as “poor” or “very poor.”
On May 19, the board will also hear a quarterly report on the Corporate Stabilization Fund.
