NCUA Board Set to Meet This Week With 1 Item on Agenda

ALEXANDRIA, Va.—In what should be a brief meeting Thursday, the NCUA board will vote on a subordinated debt final rule.

That is the only item on the agency’s agenda for this week’s meeting.

Both NAFCU and CUNA have supported the rule, which extends the treatment of Emergency Capital Investment Program (ECIP) funds as regulatory capital to reflect the maximum permissible maturity and eliminates the 20-year maximum maturity limit in favor of a more flexible test.

The meeting begins at 10 a.m. ET. A livestream will be available on the agency’s website.
